TO ALL OUR PATRONS
March 15, 2020
We are extremely disappointed to report that due to the COVID-19 concerns ALL bars & restaurants in Illinois will be shut down for in-house dining at the end of Monday March 16th (tomorrow). This dine-in closure extends through the end of March. This means that our full celebratory plans need to be cut short, so the schedule below for Tuesday is no longer in effect. However, we will be open for a “day early” St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Monday, and Cirrus Falcon will be on our main level stage at 7 PM for evening entertainment. We will of course be taking all extra precautions to assure the safety of our patrons and staff. As you know this is entirely out of our control, but we'd still like to extend our deepest apologies and look forward to seeing all our patrons back at the Pub soon.

On behalf of McGonigal’s Pub and the wonderful Village of Barrington we’d like to thank all our patrons for many fantastic years celebrating Barrington Celtic Fest with us. It has been a true pleasure hosting this event that’s not only tremendously fun but benefits all merchants by bringing many more people into our village. This year will be our eleventh St. Patrick’s Day celebration, but with that day being on a Tuesday our options for a full-blown festival become much more limited in terms of timing, logistics and expenses. We will not be using a festival tent and will simply keep everything internal throughout both our levels. Also participating is our "connected" neighbor, Big Iron Horse BBQ!
The 11th Annual St. Patrick's Day celebration at McGonigal's Pub - also known as the Barrington Celtic Fest for many years - will take place on Friday March 13th through Tuesday March 17th at McGonigal's Pub, 105 S. Cook Street, right in the heart of downtown Barrington. The agenda includes live music, Irish goods sold by our friends from The Irish Boutique/Paddy's on the Square, various entertainment including Irish dancers, promotional giveaways and of course plentiful availability of food and beverages. Plus, admission is FREE at the Pub all weekend long!
This is truly one huge party, but it's also one of the busiest times of the year for us (as it is with all other Irish pubs), so we need to make the proper adjustments in order to provide the best possible service. To accommodate the crowds, Saturday 3/14 and Tuesday 3/17 the Pub will be offering an "expanded limited" food menu. Most of the usual Irish favorites will be offered, and there will be several kid-friendly choices. There will be NO special seating or reservations of any type taken throughout the weekend and Tuesday. Seating specifically for dining will be available in The Loft -our fantastic second level - on a first come, first served basis. NO COUPONS, regular daily food & drink specials and/or special promotional discounts will be honored March 14th & 17th. Additionally, most of our drink and dining services will be changed over to paper & plastic during these days, with normal full restaurant service returning on Wednesday March 18th. We apologize for any inconveniences but this way we can service everyone to the best of our ability.
Our celebration is focused on food, drink and fun, and families are welcome and encouraged to attend during the daytime hours - especially on Sunday when we have three Irish Dance troupes here! Regular Pub rules of 21+ of age required after 9:00 PM are in effect every day. However, please use your best discretion with younger children at all other times... it's still a busy weekend and St. Patrick's Day at an Irish Pub, which inevitably becomes more of an adult holiday as the evening hours arrive.
Rain, shine, or snow - our Irish celebration will be THE place to be in the region!

2020 Press Coverage and additional notes
February 18, 2020: We are now four weeks away from “the big Irish event”, and on behalf of McGonigal’s Pub and the wonderful Village of Barrington we’d like to thank all our patrons for many fantastic years celebrating Barrington Celtic Fest with us.
Throughout the weekend of March 13th – March 15th we’ll have some additional entertainment, Irish dancers and will focus our menu on Irish cuisine. On Tuesday March 17th the party will start early and there will be live Irish music from noon until close. Details on everything will be released soon.
One more note - The Pub celebrates our TENTH year of business on March 9th, and we would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU for all the support. We couldn’t have done it without you!
