New month, new featured beer.  In February we're pleased to announce that it's a local brew this time - The Onion's Paddy Pale Ale is our focus.  "This American-style pale ale their flagship brand and celebrates the blending of intense hop character and crisp, malty mouthful."  Enjoy drafts all month long at the Pub for just $4.50.

An early announcement for our patrons - the Pub will be closing at 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 22nd for our annual Staff Holiday Party.  Dinner service (ordering) will end for the public at 7:00 PM.  Management apologies for any inconvenience to our customers, but we needed at least one evening to show our staff how much they are truly appreciated!

Strange but true... don't ask how a brewery can run out of their "Winter Lager" in early January, but somehow it happened!  However, the good folks at Sam Adams make a good brew, so the NEW January Beer of the Month is Sam Adams Alpine Spring.  This is a completely new release from the brewery and we're one of the first places to offer it!  Try a pint today for just $4.

On behalf of our entire staff I'd like to extend our sincere apologies to all of our patrons who were at or came by the Pub this past Saturday evening (January 7th) and experienced the power outages that affected not just us but three blocks in the downtown area.  It couldn't have happened at a more inopportune time and unfortunately made it necessary to close early for the evening.  This was totally out of our control, but we hope that the repairs ComEd are (still) doing will eliminate or at least greatly lessen the chances of similar outages happening again.  Also, to our friends at Motor Werks who were having their own special party in our 2nd level with one of their bands, we're very sorry and hope to have you back soon for another try at that event.  "Full Power" for you next time, promise!

Early this year the Pub will be undergoing all sorts of great improvements, starting with upgrading and expanding our specials & entertainment offerings.  More details to be released soon, but as a hint...expect some enhanced "viewing" space and some "on target" gaming options forthcoming within the next few weeks!  Stay tuned...

We have a new great IPA on tap...stop by the Pub and try a Breckenridge 471 IPA.  It's already been "taste tested" by a few folks here and gets two thumbs up!  Here's a bit of marketing info from their website:

Hoppy? Brother, 471 IPA redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy.

CHRISTMAS HOURS:  Just a reminder that the Pub will be open and "full service" all day and evening on Christmas Eve (Saturday 12/24), though we will be ending regular kitchen services around 9:00 PM.  On Christmas Day (Sunday 12/25) the Pub will be closed during the day but will OPEN at 6:00 PM.  Full bar service, no kitchen service, assorted snacks will be provided, and the Packers-Bears are on at 7 PM...the feature event on all our HDTVs.

The Pub's New Years Eve party plans are now posted in a PDF file for viewing, with the website page still in the works (should be completed by Monday 12/19).  We are excited to announce that we'll be featuring Chicago's premier 80's tribute band The Breakfast Club on our big stage in the Pub 2nd level!  It's an amazing package deal we're offering for just $50, and tickets for the event go on sale Monday, December 19th.  Stay tuned for more details...

We are THRILLED to announce that our Pub will be hosting the "Margeson Pub Quiz" every Monday evening, beginning on Monday, December 5th!  Join "The Adjudicator" Bill Margeson for some good craic!  It's a traditional Pub Quiz (general trivia, not just about Pubs) with cash prizes.  $7 per person, with up to FOUR players on each team.  The trivia contest runs approximately two hours, and our pub will have some "pub quiz specials" for all participants!  Typical start times will be 7:30 PM though we have to make some adjustments in December for prior booked holiday events - just check out this page for details on start times. 

Once we get going an official "Pub Quiz" page will be set up in the Events section...but until then, information on the quiz can be found on the official quiz Facebook page or their website.

The Pub is now proudly serving Amstel Wheat Bier, a brand new release from Amstel...it's their first new product introduction in more than ten years!  It's tap release is rather limited at the moment, but we have it and encourage lots of taste tests!

"Staying true to the identity of an authentic European wheat bier, Amstel Wheat offers a deep, translucent golden color with orange and amber hues. The aroma is rich with fruit and floral notes and a subtle tease of freshly baked bread, while the taste is slightly fruity with soft hoppy undertones."
