Entertainment Lineup & Venue Info     Food & Drink Vendors     Sponsors & Participants     Directions

The Village of Barrington continues to cultivate and support its wonderful community, and the growth of the village has never been more apparent than now.  With new businesses and entertainment options flourishing, Barrington truly has become a great place to live, work and play.  Building on such rich traditions as the Independence Day Celebration, Brew Fest, Cruise Nights, Farmer's Markets, the Art Festival, Homecoming Day, Relay for Life and the Scarecrow Fest, the Village is thrilled to welcome back one of the largest annual events, and being that it's in March it's the perfect start to another year of big fun in Barrington.

The 4th Annual Barrington Celtic Fest will take place on Friday March 14th through Monday March 17th on the 200 block Park Avenue, just East of South Cook Street and including McGonigal’s Pub & The Annex. The four-day festival will begin on Friday at 4:00 PM and run all day Saturday, Sunday & St. Patrick's Day Monday.  A huge heated festival tent will be erected over the majority of Park Avenue so patrons can enjoy the celebration outdoors without worries about the fickle March weather!  Festival Tent times are 4 PM - 1 AM Friday, 11 AM - 1 AM Saturday and 11 AM - 8 PM on Sunday.  The festival moves fully inside the Pub and The Annex on St. Patrick's Day.  The agenda for the weekend includes live music, a mix of local retail restaurants and merchants, various entertainment including Irish dancers, bagpipers, special guest appearances, and of course plentiful availability of food and beverages both in the outdoor festival area and the pub.  Details on music, participants and food/drink vendors are listed below.

We are requesting a $10 admission/donation fee for access to the Festival Tent on Friday and Saturday evenings (anytime after 6 PM), with the main portion of these proceeds going towards the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.  Volunteers from the Relay for Life will be on site throughout the event, so anyone who would like to contribute can do so at anytime.  The owner of McGonigal's Pub, Bryan McGonigal, lost his mother to cancer several years ago, so this cause is is near and dear to his heart.  The Pub has set a goal of raising $5000 for the Relay for Life event.

Admission to the festival is FREE all weekend throughout McGonigal’s Pub & The Annex, and during daytime hours in the festival tent.

The Pub will be offering a limited menu INSIDE throughout the festival weekend, providing Corned Beef & Cabbage, Fish & Chips, Shepherd's Pie, Reubens and Pub fries...and for the kids we'll have Chicken Fingers, Hot Dogs and Mac & Cheese (all served with fries).  In the tent the Pub will be offering Guinness Brats, Hot Dogs and Corned Beef Sandwiches.  There will be many other food options through Clarke's Bakery & Deli & Cooper's of Barrington...all of which our fellow Barrington businesses.  During the entire fest the Pub offers full bar service in both levels, as will The Annex, and in the tent there will be TWO beer trucks serving Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks, Sam Adams Boston Lager and of course Miller Lite green beer.  There will also be some special "Irish Version" 16oz cans of Budweiser, Bud Light & Miller Lite, along with Jameson and select wine options available.  Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and water will be available through the Pub food station.  Note - in the festival tent, all beverages and food will be CASH ONLY.  Credit cards can be used for services within the pub.

To best accommodate all our patrons during the Barrington Celtic Fest, the Pub, Annex and Festival Tent will be 21+ in age after 6 PM on Friday, Saturday and Monday evenings. Also, please understand that this is the busiest weekend of the year for us and other Irish pubs, so as a heads up there will be NO special seating, private event bookings or reservations of any type taken for the duration of the Celtic Fest.  Seating specifically for dining will be available in our Pub 2nd level and in The Annex on a first come, first served basis.  There will also be tables in the Festival Tent again on a first come, first served basis. We apologize for any inconveniences.  Additionally, NO COUPONS, daily food & drink specials or special promotional discounts will be honored March 14-17.

The Barrington Celtic Fest is focusing on food, drink and fun, with local and Irish merchants on hand.  With several diversions for the kids, families are welcome and encouraged to attend during the daytime hours - especially on Sunday when the "family day" takes place in the Festival tent!  However, please use your best discretion with younger children at all other times... it's still St. Patrick's Day weekend at an Irish Pub, which inevitably becomes more of an adult holiday as the evening hours arrive.

Hope to see you here this weekend!
